The traveling replica of Vietnam Veterans Memorial – called the “Wall That Heals” – will making a stop on its national tour at Pinewood Elementary School in Monticello (1010 W. Broadway St.) starting tomorrow (Thursday, July 20) through Sunday, July 23. The exhibit is in its 28th year and includes a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial along with a mobile Education Center. The wall bears the names of the 58,281 American men and women who died during the Vietnam War.
The local event is called “Monticello Supporting Veterans” and will bring the wall and a mobile education center to Wright County for four days. Since its dedication on Veterans Day 1996, the traveling exhibit has traveled more than 13,000 miles and had more than 200,000 visitors in more than 700 communities.
