A Message from University of Minnesota Extension:
Wright County Extension is hosting a Farm and Food Safety Day from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the Wright County Fairgrounds. During this event, youth from fourth grade and up will learn about multiple kinds of safety including livestock, weed, ATV, tractor, and food.
In this short three-hour event, the youth will be able to walk away with an increased knowledge about safety that will be able to be used on a daily basis. Although not every youth will be on a farm one day, we wanted to be able to include everyone in this event by adding stations on ATV, weed, and food safety.
This event is free to all youth. If you are looking to register, go to mn.4honline.com. If you are not currently enrolled in 4-H, you can enroll as a ‘non-member’. Visit z.umn.edu/nonmember for more information and step-by-step instructions. The deadline to register is noon Friday, August 4.
