At this week’s meeting of the Wright County Board of Commissioners, the Marquardt Family of Howard Lake was honored as the 2023 Wright County Farm Family of the Year.
The Marquardt family has been farming at its current location since 1975 and three generations of the family have taken part in the farming operations, which includes raising dairy steers and growing corn, soybeans, wheat and hay for local horse farmers. Dave and Julie Marquardt have taken great care in sharing their passion for agriculture, passing it along to future generations of the family. Dave and Julie have very strong ties to their community and embody the ideals of the Farm Family Recognition Program.
The Farm Family Recognition Program has been run by the University of Minnesota Extension Office for more than 30 years.
Wright County congratulates the Marquardt family for its positive impact on the community and the contributions the family has made to the field of agriculture.
