The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an Air Quality Alert for southeastern Minnesota that includes Wright County. The AQA is in effect through midnight today (June 5). Wright County is in the Orange designation, which is viewed as unhealthy for sensitive groups (children, the elderly, those with respiratory conditions, etc.). People are advised to limit the time they spend outside.
The alert is the result of wildfires in Quebec that have lingered across east central and southeast Minnesota and have caused a haze in the atmosphere.
