Wright County veterans who served during the Vietnam War, Gulf War or post-9/11 era may have increased health care or compensation due them from the PACT (Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxins) Act. The PACT Act is a recently enacted law that expands Veterans Administration (VA) benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxic substances such as Agent Orange.
From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 a PACT Act claims clinic will be held in Building 8 of the St. Cloud VA Medical Center (4801 Veterans Drive). The claims clinic is open to all Central Minnesota veterans. The claims clinic will provide personal access to Veterans Benefits Administration representatives to assist with new, ongoing or supplemental claims for disability compensation claims, as well as access to VA health care enrollment specialists.
Assistance at the clinic is available on a walk-in basis. Appointments are also available by calling (320) 255-6340 by Friday, March 10. Veterans are asked to bring their DD-214 or other discharge papers and any recent correspondence from the VA about prior or ongoing claims.
