A Message from the Wright County License Center:
Starting Tuesday, February 21, Class D written exams will be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. This scheduling change allows for better customer flow on our traditionally busier days of Mondays and Fridays. Also, the License Center opted to switch to Tuesdays to avoid the federal holidays that typically fall on Mondays. This will allow testing to go on uninterrupted during those weeks. Appointments for the written exam can be made online, up to 30 days in advance. Walk-ins will also be accepted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, but priority will be given to those who have an appointment. Walk-ins will be accepted during the same hours as appointments, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. only. There is a $10 fee to take the exam at our location and proper documentation is required to test. Here is the standard state documentation list: https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/dvs/forms-documents/Documents/IdentificationRequirements_English.pdf. Those who successfully pass their test can apply for their permit or Minnesota driver’s license at our service counter. The License Center is an approved third-party proctor, but per state statute, we are only allowed to offer the Class D written exam. All road tests and other written exams are administered by state testing stations only.
