The road closure (and detour route) for County Highway 19 in Saint Michael was removed on Monday, Oct. 24.
This segment of CSAH 19 had been closed and detoured since July 25, 2022, while Wright County and the City of St. Michael completed watermain, sanitary sewer rehabilitation and pavement improvements along CSAH 19 (Main Street) in Saint Michael (from Chestnut Avenue SE to Carissa Lane SW).
The project included new pavement markings that created a three-lane highway to replace the former two-lane highway. The change in pavement markings, converting the roadway to a three-lane section, was made for safety and capacity reasons for this segment of highway that has a traffic volume of about 13,000 vehicles per day. The three-lane section offers capacity benefits and provides for vehicles to safely make left-turns into their driveway and/or side streets
