Highway 55 has closed and a detour is in place between Kimball and South Haven. The closure began Monday, Sept. 12.
The closure in necessary to allow the city of South Haven to complete underground utility work on Highway 55 as part of a larger city project in downtown South Haven.
Motorists will follow a signed detour along Pittman Avenue NW (C) from South Haven to Fairhaven, then County Road 44 to Kimball. A truck route will also be signed for commercial and larger recreational vehicles.
Access will be maintained to those who live, work or visit areas along Highway 55; however, expect changes. Any questions or concerns may be directed to South Haven City Engineer Paul Jurek at 320-235-2555.
All lanes will reopen mid-October.
