A Message from the Wright County Highway Department:
The Wright County Highway Department would like to inform the public of the following highway work at the intersection of County Highway 35 and County Road 117 (Edmonson Ave. NE) in Buffalo Township.
The Wright County Highway Department will be installing permanent signing along Highway 35 to replace the temporary signing currently in place that has converted the intersection to an All-Way Stop control intersection. This work will include the installation of new stop signs (with L.E.D. lighting) & reflective signposts, new stop ahead signs with reflective signposts, and pavement markings.
The intersection was converted to an All-Way Stop control intersection with temporary signing on Wednesday, August 17, due to a history of severe right-angle crashes and will remain an All-Way Stop control intersection until a more substantial intersection safety improvement can be implemented in the future.
The new stop signs on Highway 35 will be installed as soon as the L.E.D. signs are shipped and delivered to our offices, likely within the next two weeks or so. The L.E.D. signs will be solar powered.
Work will be completed under traffic, and there will be traffic control while the work is being completed.
We understand that this safety change will create a delay for Highway 35 traffic that navigates through this intersection, so please allow extra time to reach your destination. The Wright County Highway Department greatly appreciates your understanding and patience with the implementation of this intersection safety measure.
Questions or comments regarding this intersection safety measure can be directed to the proper individual by calling the Wright County Highway Department at 763-682-7383. Business hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
