It would appear our long regional nightmare will be over by a week from Friday…at least for those driving on I-94 in the section between Monticello and Clearwater.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced that following Labor Day weekend (Tuesday, Sept. 6 through Friday, Sept. 9) the finalization of the work on the 15-mile stretch between Monticello and Clearwater will take place on lane expansion project that began in 2019.
In a work statement, MnDOT said there will be short-term nightly lane closures in both eastbound and westbound lanes for final grading and striping on those dates. Advanced signing will be in place to notify the public of the lane closures.
