The traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is making a stop in Winsted this week. The exhibit, entitled “The Wall That Heals,” is a three-quarter sized replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall located in the Constitution Gardens next to the National Mall in Washington D.C.
The exhibit opened Thursday (July 28) at the Winstock Festival Grounds in Winsted and can be viewed 24 hours a day between now and Sunday (July 31).
The traveling memorial is being hosted by the Winsted American Legion Post #407 and includes the names of the 58,000 American service members who lost their lives during the Vietnam War.
Wright County has between 7,000 and 8,000 veterans who live in the county, many of whom served in Vietnam – as well as those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.
