A Message from the Wright County Sheriff’s Office:
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce the partnering with the Minnesota Department of Commerce with the Catalytic Converter Pilot Program. This program allows Wright County citizens to come to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office to receive a free label that can be traced by law enforcement. Here are the steps to take to get a label for your vehicle:
1. Research how many catalytic converters your vehicle has
2. Obtain your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and license plate number
3. Bring that information to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office with your smartphone if you have one. If you don’t, there is a tablet available for use.
4. You will need to register your vehicle upon arrival, and you will be given your sticker and etching compound to apply at home or take to a mechanic (may require a different paid service)
Businesses with fleet vehicles are encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 763-684-2373 prior to coming to get labels for their fleet.
If you own an automotive service station and would like to participate in offering this service to the members of your community at no cost, please call 763-684-2373.
