There may some confusion over the next two days about weather alert sirens going off throughout the county. Despite ugly weather, it won’t rise to the level of being severe that would activate warning sirens. However, they will be going off three times in the next 36 hours.
Today at 1 p.m., sirens will sound as they do at that time every first Wednesday of the month as a preparedness test of the sirens to make sure they’re in working order.
Tomorrow, as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, sirens will sound twice – once at 1:45 p.m. for businesses to conduct their own severe weather drills and again at 6:45 p.m. so second shift workers and families can conduct similar drills.
