This week (April 4-8) is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota. Today’s theme is flooding. Communities most at risk for flooding are those located in low-lying areas, near water or downstream from a dam, but this doesn’t mean flooding doesn’t occur elsewhere. Flash flooding, river flooding, ice/debris jams and dam breaks are a few of the flood hazards that impact Minnesota.
