Last weekend (April 2-3), K-9 narcotic trials were hosted by the Brainerd and Baxter Police Departments. This was Wright County Sheriff Office Deputy Michael Loomis and K-9 Grizz's first trial outside of the small certification trials Grizz took part in immediately after their initial K-9 training class. Loomis and Grizz did outstanding for their first trial competition. Out of 53 dogs in the competition, Loomis and Grizz finished just outside the top five overall, but took home trophies for 2nd place in room search and 3rd place in vehicle search. They finished with a 199.66 out of 200 for a score. Congratulations to both Deputy Loomis and Grizz!
