A Message from the Central Mississippi River Regional Planning Partnership:
Love your community? Creative? Want to contribute to the region's future? Get your project together and apply for a Placemaking Microgrant now.
Placemaking is a creative and proactive approach to connecting people with the public places they share. It builds on community assets, inspiration, volunteer spirit, and civic pride to create public places with energy and pizzazz – where all community members are welcome and encouraged to gather and return repeatedly. Placemaking often centers on nature, culture, or the arts and may take a do-it-yourself approach.
- Eligible applicants: Nonprofits, school districts, local unit of governments, and community groups with a nonprofit fiscal sponsor
- Eligible projects: These microgrants are intended to stimulate and support local placemaking projects that must include some regional component, be open and accessible, may not be for-profit ventures, and must have secured funding beyond this microgrant
- Grant cycle and amount: Applications are reviewed quarterly; maximum grant amount is $3,500
