A Message from the Wright County Parks & Recreation Department:
The time is fast approaching to reserve campsites for the summer at your favorite Wright County Campground. The three camping parks, Schroeder (near Annandale, MN), Collinwood (near Cokato, MN), and Bertram Chain of Lakes (near Monticello, MN), are open for the season on Friday, April 29. Reservations will open at 8 a.m. Monday, March 7. You can reserve campsites either online or over the phone at 763-682-7693 or 763-295-0409.
In 2021 we transitioned to a new reservation system. As with any change, there were some growing pains, which we have worked to solve. The most important thing to remember when making a reservation is that your site is not secured until you pay. We recommend reserving and paying for one site at a time. This way, you will see the live-updated map at all times. Suppose the site you are trying to book all of a sudden is not available. In that case, you will receive a message that reads, “oops…an unexpected error has occurred.” There is nothing wrong with the system; this means the site you wanted is no longer available. If you have more than one site, you will have to figure out which one is no longer available. Reservations go fast, and we cannot guarantee anyone the site they want. The demand for camping has been astronomical the past few seasons. Be prepared with sites you like and backup sites if you don’t get your first choice. Weekends are the first to fill up, specifically the holiday weekends.
We want to remind everyone of a couple of things as you plan. Each year we struggle to keep people from parking on the grass. Please respect this policy as it helps in keeping the campground looking nice. Secondly, if you reserve a campsite, you must have a camping unit on the site the first night. Campsites are not for additional parking of vehicles. Your pets are welcome, but remember to be kept on a six-foot, non-retractable leash. Unfortunately, your pets cannot be on the beach with you or inside park buildings, including the shelters at each park. At Collinwood, we have a dedicated area to enjoy the water for you and your pets. Lastly, we have quiet hours in the park from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please respect those hours and the people around you. You can visit our website to view all our park ordinances, fee schedule, and refund policy for campsites located at the bottom of the fee schedule.
As you prepare for this coming camping season, please be sure to set up an account with us. If you reserved with us last year, double-check that your account is active. If you are unsure if you have an account, please contact us. We are more than happy to assist you, which will help keep duplicate accounts from being created, which will cause issues in the future. Hopefully, you find this helpful information, and if you have any questions, please reach out to us. Please visit our website or like us on Facebook for up-to-date details of all Wright County Parks and Recreation activities.
