Over the last two years, we’ve all had to deal with supply chain disruptions, but one that is currently impacting Minnesotans who need to renew their license tabs or cab cards in 2022. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety has released a statement informing that customers who renew online or by mail will experience a delay in receiving their new tabs or cab cards due to a supply chain issue with 3M, the company that produces the tabs and cab cards. That release can be seen here: News Releases - Vendor Supply Chain Issue Delaying Delivery Of Registration Stickers And Cab Cards (mn.gov). It is estimated that this delay is already impacting approximately 52,000 Minnesota residents who have filed online or by mail for tabs/cab cards set to expire in January. The Wright County License Center has plenty of stickers available for tabs that will expire in 2022 (the stickers say 2023). License Center staff is urging customers to come in person to its office in Buffalo or to a city DMV to avoid this delay in service.
