With the potential for the first significant snow of the winter season hitting Wright County over the weekend, the timing seems appropriate that the Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) has designated Nov. 15-19 as Winter Hazard Awareness Week in Minnesota.
Each fall, Minnesota DPS joins forces with the National Weather Service along with other state, federal and non-profit agencies to sponsor the awareness week.
The week highlights a different hazard each day, including winter storms, outdoor winter safety, winter fire safety, indoor winter safety and winter driving.
