The Minnesota Department of Transportation has announced a pair of changes on the I-94 project between Clearwater and Maple Grove.
Starting Tuesday, Oct. 12, the westbound lanes of I-94 between Hwy. 25 in Monticello and CSAH 8 in Hasty will return to the west side of the freeway. Two lanes will be available. This lane configuration will be in place through the winter. On Friday, Oct. 15, the eastbound lanes of I-94 between Hwy. 25 and CSAH 8 will return to its normal configuration. Like the westbound lanes, there will be two lanes available and the configuration will remain in place through the winter.
For those traveling on I-94 at the intersection of 494/694 at night this week will be in for a detour. The northbound ramp from I-494 to westbound I-94 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. tonight (Monday, Oct. 11), as well as Thursday, Oct. 14 and Friday, Oct. 15. Those looking to get onto westbound I-94 will have to travel eastbound on I-94 to Highway 169 and return to westbound I-94/694 to access the westbound traffic heading away from the Twin Cities metro.
