As part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP), Wright County has committed funds to improve broadband accessibility to rural areas of the county. At 7 p.m. tonight (Sept. 22), Design Nine – the firm that conducted a broadband study for the county, will hold an informational meeting in the Wright County Board Room at the Government Center in downtown Buffalo.
Jack Maytum, a senior business analyst for Design Nine, will conduct the meeting and provide the results of the survey, which sought to identify problem areas in the county, followed by a question-and-answer session with county residents in attendance. For those unable to attend the meeting, it will be livestreamed on the Wright County YouTube channel. To watch the livestream, go to the Wright County website (www.co.wright.mn.us) and click on the link on the left side of the screen that says “County Board Video.” The livestream will begin shortly before 7 p.m.
As a reminder, Wright County is not getting into the high-speed internet business. Its role will be to lay down conduit lines for internet providers to use to bring internet accessibility to rural and underserved portions of the county.
