A Message from the Wright County Highway Department:
Construction on Fallon Avenue in Monticello Township is scheduled to begin Sept. 13. Work on the segment of Fallon Avenue (approximately a half-mile segment) begins at CSAH 37 and includes reshaping the existing township road, bituminous pavement surfacing, replacing aging culverts and soil corrections.
In addition, a right turn lane and bypass lane are also being constructed on CSAH 37. The project will improve the access and safety to a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Wildlife Management Area and public access to Pelican Lake located at the south end of Fallon Avenue.
State Park Road Account (SPRA) funds are covering the costs of the $290,000 project. Monticello Township applied for SPRA funds in 2019 and the project was selected by the Minnesota DNR.
Construction will begin Sept. 13 and the project is expected to be completed by Oct. 8. Motorists on CSAH 37 should expect minor delays during the construction of the turn lane.
