The Wright County Parks & Recreation Department has announced that the swimming beaches are Collinwood and Clearwater/Pleasant Parks have re-opened this afternoon (Aug. 4). Both beaches were closed Friday (July 30) after routine testing discovered higher than normal levels of E. coli. The department did follow-up sample testing Monday (Aug 2) and the results came back this morning that the E. coli levels had dropped back to normal.
Wright County Parks & Recreation frequently does water quality testing on its swimming beaches from Memorial Day to Labor Day testing for inflated E. coli and other bacteria levels to assure the safety of swimmers. Whenever a reading comes back higher than levels deemed acceptable by the Minnesota Department of Health, beaches are closed until the levels return to normal.
