The Wright County License Center has announced that approximately 600 appointments for renewing driver’s licenses will open at 8 a.m. Friday (July 23). The appointments will cover the period of Aug. 2-13. With the Peacetime Emergency lifted in Minnesota earlier this month, all renewals must come through the License Center since the online option was shut down by the state.
Appointments are served on time and walk-ins are served in the order they check in. Walk-in hours are 8-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. daily. Those who are checked into the queue will be processed in order of check in and customer wait time depends on volume. All transaction types can be processed at the indoor Service Counter. However, walk-in customers will typically find shorter wait times for transactions that do not require a photo by using the outdoor walk-up window on the south parking deck of the Government Center between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
