There are many people who believe the only good snake is a dead snake, but, in honor of June 16 being World Snake Day, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is letting people know that six of the 17 snakes native to Minnesota (including the timber rattlesnake) are listed as “threatened” or “special concern.”
The DNR has a 71-page book detailing the snakes and lizards of Minnesota that can be found here: https://files.dnr.state.mn.us/natural_resources/animals/reptiles_amphibians/snake_lizard_mn.pdf
