For those who use I-94 on a regular basis, the Minnesota Department of Transportation has provided an update on activity that will create lane changes or ramp closures starting this week.
- There will be a one-night closure of the left local lane on westbound I-94 between the start of the bypass lane near Weaver Lake Road and Maple Grove Parkway. The closure will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 15 and reopen at 6 a.m. Friday, July 16.
- Another one-night closure will impact the two right lanes on westbound I-94. The two right lanes will be closed at the exit to Maple Grove Parkway. All traffic in the local lane will need to exit at Maple Grove Parkway and continue on Maple Grove Parkway to Highway 610 to return to I-94. This closure will be between 10 p.m. Thursday, July 15 to 6 a.m. Friday, July 16. The bypass lane on westbound I-94 will remain open. To access Highway 101, take the bypass lane to Highway 241 to eastbound I-94 to Highway 101. Access to exit at Weaver Lake Road and Maple Grove Parkway is maintained. Access to Highway 101 from Highway 610 is maintained using the local lanes. Access to westbound I-94 from Maple Grove Parkway is maintained using the ramp from westbound Maple Grove Parkway.
- Starting Friday, July 16 through Friday, Aug. 6 the ramp from Weaver Lake Road to westbound I-94 will be closed. Traffic will detour taking Weaver Lake to Elm Creek Boulevard to Highway 610 to westbound I-94.
- Starting Thursday, July 29 through Thursday, Aug. 19 the ramp on westbound I-94 to Weaver Lake Road will be closed. Traffic will detour on westbound I-94 to Maple Grove Parkway to eastbound I-94 to Weaver Lake Road.
