[ARCHIVED] Campground Reservation System Up for a Preview

Camping season is just around the corner and we are excited to welcome people back to the Wright County Parks & Recreation Campgrounds. Since the end of last camping season, we decided to move our reservation system over to a new platform. If you have reserved with us before, you will need to create all new accounts by visiting our new site. You will want to do this before we open reservations on Monday, March 1 at 8 a.m.

A couple of things to note about our new system. First, the new system is mobile-friendly. Second, you will still not be able to select multiple sites at once. You will need to go through the process of reserving each site one at a time. The difference is that you will be able to put them all in one cart and the sites should be held for you as you process other sites. This means, that as you select multiple dates, the first date and site you selected should not be taken by someone else. Once it is in your cart it is held for you. We have prepared a document that will help you understand the reservation process by showing you the screens and what items you will need to select as you go through it. We hope it is a valuable resource for you.

At this time the campgrounds will open underneath similar COVID guidelines that we had last year. This means that we will have 10 sites at Schroeder Park and Campground that will not be available and two electric campsites and three tent sites at Collinwood Park and Campground that will not be available due to the COVID guidelines. The other impact that this has is we will not be offering any of our “same day reservation/first come first serve” sites at this time. If the guidance changes, there is a possibility that we will open them up. Your best place for that information would be to follow our Facebook page and website.

Group camps will open this season with a few restrictions. First, they will be limited to three households and a maximum of 15 people. Second, as a control factor for that guidance, the group camps will not be available to reserve online. You will need to contact us at the office in Buffalo to reserve the group camps please call 763-682-7894. You can contact us via email at to start the group camp reservation process as well.

One last item. We have received many inquiries about the new campground at Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park. We do plan on opening that campground this summer, but it will not be available to reserve on March 1. Depending on the spring weather we hope to open the campground sometime in early July.

You will be able to view campsites and the new reservation system until noon Friday, February 26. At that time, we will deactivate the link to prepare the site to go live with reservations at 8 a.m. Monday, March 1.
