A Message from the Wright County License Bureau
Starting today (Monday, Dec. 7), the Wright County License Bureau will be utilizing Conference Room 120 on the first floor of the Wright County Government Center as a waiting area for customers utilizing our “Walk-In” option. This is part of our winter plan to allow people the option to wait indoors for Motor Vehicle transactions – from driver’s license renewals to license tabs to title transfers. The outdoor walk-up window will remain open throughout the winter and we are still encouraging people to utilize that option versus waiting indoors because there is always staff available at the walk-up window and transactions are processed faster. It is still preferred that our customers make appointments to utilize the Indoor Service Counter for the fastest, most efficient service. Appointments are served first and with priority, so there is no guarantee on the wait time for walk-ins. Currently, our appointments are fully booked through Friday, Dec. 18. Our next round of appointments will open at 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11. Customers can make appointments for Driver’s License/ID/Permit applications and Motor Vehicle Title Transfers. The upcoming appointments will run from Dec. 21-31. A reminder that our office will be closed starting at noon Thursday, Dec. 24 in observance of the Christmas holiday and will re-open at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28. Our outdoor Walk-Up Window is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Our Indoor Service Counter is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted every day between 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. We can only accept a limited number of people to wait in the Walk-In queue and those individuals will be served in order when a License Bureau window becomes available.
