Shortly after noon today (Oct. 20), the Wright County Highway Department sent out its trucks to plow and salt roadways that quickly became snow covered. The same is true for the Minnesota Department of Transportation. MnDOT trucks are out on I-94 and, with reduced visibility, traffic has slowed to less than 35 miles per hour. Because of the nature of the wet snow, even after plows go through there remains a coating of snow and ice on the roadways. Motorists are advised to stay off the roads if possible because they are deteriorating quickly.
