The preliminary budget and levy amounts are not yet final. Once the county board adopts a resolution setting the preliminary numbers, the budget or levy figures have the ability to be reduced, but can’t be increased.
As part of the Sept. 15 meeting, the board will discuss setting a Special Board Meeting for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1. This public meeting has commonly been referred to as the Truth In Local Taxation Hearing.
The 2021 Final Budget and Levy is expected to be officially adopted at the Dec. 15 county board meeting.
