Census Bureau Making Digital Push May 1-3 to Increase Response Rate

Despite results being adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Census Bureau has received responses from more than half the households in the country, but the bureau is making a push this weekend to get the count higher.

The Census Bureau has named May 1-3 at Digital Action Weekend and is encouraging everyone to spread the word on social media about the need to get everyone counted. People are urged to use the hashtags #2020Census and/or #Censo2020 when posting on all social media platforms.

The Census Bureau wants to remind people that is isn’t too late to be counted and that the census forms can be filled out by mail, online or by telephone.

Census data is not used simply to count the population, but to determine congressional representation and the drawing of congressional districts within states and determines how federal funding is expended each year for things like schools, clinics and road construction.
