Sheriff's Office Seeking Information From the Public Concerning Death Investigation

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office is seeking anyone with information to assist the department in an active death investigation.

On Dec. 29, a body was found in Kingston Township in Meeker County, near the western border of Wright County. The body was identified as Justin Edward Warnke, 34, of Buffalo.

The investigation into the cause, manner and circumstances of Warnke’s death, including where he died, is being jointly investigated by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office and the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

On Jan. 1, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office arrested Alejandro Vega, 37, of Montrose in connection with its investigation of the death. Vega was booked and is currently in the Meeker County Jail pending formal charges. Those charges are expected to be filed Monday, Jan. 6 in Wright County.
