Food Shelves

There are food shelves in Annandale, Buffalo, Clearwater, Cokato, Delano, Elk River, Hanover, Monticello, Rockford, and Waverly.

Hunger Solutions is updating food shelf information daily on the Find Help Map. They are recommending that food shelves move to a drive-up or walk-up model of service with pre-packed foods to help them maintain social distancing as much as possible. Some are also going to smaller amounts of food, but allowing clients to visit weekly instead of monthly.

The University of Minnesota Extension is providing meal kits in Greater Minnesota to help serve vulnerable, isolated community members during the COVID-19 outbreak. Spokeswoman Kathy Draeger says the kits hold about 62 pounds of food, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack items. Community groups and churches are paying the roughly $150 cost to put the kits together. Anyone interested in receiving the food is encouraged to call their local food shelf and ask about a 14-day meal kit.
