Public Records Area - Safety Guidelines

We would like to encourage all business who submit recordings to our office do so by submitting them electronically.  eRecording is secure and can easily be done from your home or office.  Here is a directory of local title companies who may be able to electronically record for you: MLTA Listing.

Recorder's Office fees now available for payment by credit card via Web:

A new multi-use website has been placed into production by the Recorder’s Office.   This website allows for credit/debit card payment (fee=2.35% of total, $1.75 minimum)  or electronic check payment ($1.75 flat fee) for escrow payments and fees for requests for marriage records, birth certificates,  death certificates and any other fees.  Please contact the Recorder's office to obtain reference number or escrow number before making payments online.

Separate checks required for each department:  Separate checks payable to the Wright County Auditor Treasurer for deed tax, mortgage registration tax, real estate taxes and Agricultural Conservation Fees submitted with recordings.

Effective, July 12th, 2017 the Wright County Recorder’s Office will be accepting transfer documents to be electronically recorded.  Please see the attached list of document types allowed.

Effective:  Monday, May 22nd, 2017:

The Wright County Recorder’s Office will be accepting Mortgages along with all non-transfer documents to be electronically recorded.  We anticipate electronically recording deeds within the next 30-60 days.  We will notify submitters when we are ready to e-Record transfer document/deeds.

To e-record in Wright County the documents must be submitted through a Trusted Submitter.  Trusted Submitters currently submitting documents for e-recording in Wright County are:

Marriage licenses can be obtained from the Recorder's office located on the 2nd floor at the Wright County Government Center.  The application process can be time consuming.  Please arrive at the Recorder's office by 4 pm to assure adequate time.  If you would like to start the process, you may begin by completing an
eMarriage Application at home or you can use the public terminals located in our office.  We will print the application when you arrive to apply for the license.  Both parties must appear in person to complete the application process. 


Effective Monday, March 6th 2017:  The following services have moved to our office.  We are located on the 2nd Floor of the Wright County Government Center, Recorder Room 210:   Birth Certificates, Death Certificates, Marriage Certificates, Marriage License Applications, Ordinations and passport photos.
