No Charge to Attend

This program is offered free of charge and will be held in the Fall of 2023. Classes are two and a half hours long. The program will run for 5 weeks. Instruction will be a combination of lecture, question and answer, demonstration, participation, and tours. The classes and subjects will be very similar to those taught to new deputy sheriffs and police officers.   


Teaching The Community

Participation in these classes will give students a unique insight into law enforcement, as the Wright County Sheriff’s Office is one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the State of Minnesota and is charged with enforcing both criminal and civil law.  This class is a benefit for business leaders, political leaders, teachers, community leaders those who work with law enforcement or interested tax payers who want to know how law enforcement and the criminal justice system work from an insider’s perspective. The Sheriff’s Office is looking for a representative cross section of the community to participate in this unique educational experience. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.  Due to the nature of the material presented, all applicants will be screened for criminal backgrounds.


Fall 2023 classes will be from 6:30 to 9:00 P.M, Sept  12th, 19th, 26th, October 3rd,  10th.

A certificate of completion will be awarded at a commencement ceremony at the conclusion of the class (5th week).

This session is filled on a first-come basis.
