MNatClass500Wright County Parks & Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan

Approved Master Plan (May 3, 2022)

About

This plan guides future direction and investments of the Wright County Parks and Recreation system. The plan was developed over the course of 2021 and included outreach to Wright County residents, visitors, and stakeholders.

Purpose

This plan serves as a guide for short-term and long-term development of the County’s parks and recreation system. The plan identifies physical improvement and maintenance needs within parks, as well as long-term goals and visionary ideas that may take 20-25 years or more to realize. As growth occurs and development takes place, this plan should be updated to indicate what has been completed and what new goals will be added.

The recommendations in this plan are based on a detailed assessment of existing facilities, analysis of trends in recreation, future growth patterns, gaps in facilities and programming, and an evaluation of public input.

In addition to making recommendations and providing precedents to inform future improvements and additions to the park system, this plan attempts to prioritize where and when investments will be made based on public desire, needs for facility function and safety, and opportunities that arise.
