Posted date: 6/4/2010 Updated:8/20/2010
Please bear with us during this construciton season. Drive slowly and cautiously, and allow workers to provide a clear path before proceeding. Please consider alternate routes when possible, and be sure to get out of the construction area as quickly as possible. Residents south of Buffalo Lake are encouraged to head south the rest of this fall as work on the City portion will become more intense. Construction is progressing on CSAH 12 from south of 15th Street SW in Marysville Township to TH 25 in Buffalo. The City of Buffalo has a contract with Knife River Corporation to do the urban construction on CSAH 12 from TH 25 to the south city limits, near the boat landing to Buffalo Lake. Wright County Department of Highways has a contract with Mathiowetz Construction Company to do the rural portion of construction from the south city limits to approximately 720 feet south of 15th Street. The Contractor is currently removing the inplace road core north of 15th Street toward CR 108. Additional sand layers are also being placed in several surcharge areas along the project. Construciton on the rural portion is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season. Overloading of poor soils for several months in various areas along the roadway is currently under way and is required to lessen future settlement of the roadbed. It is anticipated the detour will be removed over the winter and re-installed the spring of 2011.
