Miller has worked for the Wright County Sheriff's Office since July 1975. Besides working as a patrol deputy he also worked in the Warrant/Transport Division until he was promoted to Patrol Lieutenant in 1990. In 1993 he was promoted to Captain and in May 2000 was appointed Sheriff to fill the vacancy created by Sheriff Don Hozempa's retirement. The Sheriff is responsible for county law enforcement, operation of the county jail, civil process, criminal investigation, and courtroom security.
