US Hwy 12 Corridor Land Use Plan

US Hwy 12 Corridor Land Use Plan - Adoped February 8, 2011

The US12 Corridor includes the Townships of Cokato, Franklin, Marysville, Middleville, Stockholm, Victor and Woodland, as well as the Cities of Cokato, Delano, Howard Lake, Montrose and Waverly. The US12 Corridor plan is the final phase of a multi-year project to update and renew land use planning efforts for the County. There were “kickoff” open houses for this US12 Corridor Plan in April of 2010, at the Howard Lake High School and the Montrose Community Center. Conversations with attendees were very useful and informative, and such review and feedback is always very helpful to staff in the development of the Plan. Technical work on the plan, which includes updating and supplementing environmental, housing, population, transportation and other relevant background, has been completed by County P&Z staff. This work and draft ideas for any changes in existing plans has been reviewed with Township and City officials and the County Planning Commission has been updated regularly to guide staff on the formulation of this Draft US12 Corridor Land Use Plan.

There were four open houses conducted for the "US12 Corridor" draft Land Use Plan in November and December, 2010.  We believe that Wright County is a wonderful place to live, work and play, and invite all residents and landowners to participate in this process to maintain and improve that status. You are welcome to browse the information on these pages and to respond by email with your concerns and comments as the process unfolds.  The Public Hearing for the US Highway 12 Corridor Land Use Plan is scheduled for Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. in the County Commissioners Board Room at the Wright County Government Center, Buffalo.
