Registered Nurses (RNs) provide teaching, guidance, support, and the screening and
immunization services.
|
Immunizations provided for adults include Td & Tdap
(tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis), pneumonia, hepatitis B, and influenza. In
addition to these vaccines, hepatitis A, HPV (Gardasil), MMR, and
chicken pox immunizations will be provided at a reduced fee for adults
19 and older who have no health insurance, insurance that does not cover
vaccines, or insurance that has a deductible for vaccines.
Immunizations provided for children include all of the recommended
immunizations, but the child must be eligible for the VFC program (age
18 or less with MA or MinesotaCare health insurance, no health
insurance, insurance that does not cover vaccines, or insurance that has a
deductible for vaccines).

Disease prevention includes making healthy choices and deciding options when there are
health concerns.
|
The Healthy Adults Program includes “On the Road to Better Health,” a three-step
health-awareness program. With our help, you 1) determine risks, 2) set goals, and 3) make it
happen–decide what course of action is best.
|
The Healthy Families Program includes information and support for pregnancy, birth,
breast feeding, family planning, parenting, child growth and development, safety, and child
health concerns. Infant and child weight checks are also included.
|
The Dental Wellness Program provides information on good oral care for your family.
|
During a fluoride treatment, a Child’s teeth are “painted” with a fluoride paste
product to help prevent tooth decay.
|
Well child checks include physical and developmental exams for children ages 6 months
to 20 years and are for children with no health insurance, children with no well-child coverage,
or for children who have medical assistance or MinnesotaCare.
|
Child car seat checks are for children birth through age 13 years. Caregivers are
trained in choosing the right child safety restraint and using it correctly. Car seats will be
checked for recall.
|
Community resources provide information on local programs including affordable health
care resources and useful community services for these tough economic times.
|
Screenings include a risk assessment and education on factors that increase risks and
options for lowering risks. Support is provided in making healthy choices and deciding options
when there is a concern.
|
Blood pressure checks determine blood pressure levels and provide teaching on the results
of the individual blood pressure check.
|
A cholesterol screening provides a complete lipid profile on a blood sample from a finger
stick: Total Cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol), Triglycerides, and blood
sugar are checked. A 12-hour fast is required.
|
A diabetes screening includes a blood sugar check of a blood sample from a finger stick.
An 8-hour fast is suggested.
|
Pregnancy tests are provided with a urine sample. May be able to determine if the test
is positive after the first missed period.
|
A hemoglobin screening includes a check of hemoglobin level in a blood sample from a
finger stick.
|
A lead screening includes a check of lead in a blood sample from a finger stick.
|
During a Mantoux test, testing fluid is injected under the skin to screen for
Tuberculosis. Requires a follow-up visit to read the results.

A radon test kit is used to test for radon in the home. Radon is an invisible, odorless
gas known to cause cancer. Click

An appointment is needed for some services. This is so we can prepare and set aside
enough time for the service.
