B. CIVIL LAW FAQThe County Attorney is the legal advisor for the County Board of Commissioners, other County officials and County departments. The Chief Deputy Attorney for the Wright County Attorney's Office is Brian Asleson and he administers the Civil Division and advises the county departments. These duties include: Providing legal advice to County officials in areas including contracts, environmental law, real estate acquisitions, data privacy and property taxes Representing the County in civil litigation, including real estate tax appeals, welfare, licensing appeals and eminent domain actions Initiating civil litigation on behalf of the County Protecting public safety and the environment through enforcement of County ordinances Forfeiting property used in connection with criminal activity Initiating legal proceedings to protect the health and safety of vulnerable adults within the County
