    To make sure there is available space in each class, you must pre-register by calling Terri Burkhart or emailing. Class fees are non-refundable unless you reschedule. A minimum of ten participants need to be registered in order to hold class. Class will be canceled one week prior to class if the minimum is not met. No admittance after class has started. Note: These trainings are approved on the MNCPD Registry.

    This orientation will be an overview of the child foster care program within Wright county. All child foster care applicants are required to attend. Please RSVP to Marisa Ferguson.

Child Foster Care Training & Support

  1. Permanency Issues for Families Training

    October 9, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Government Center

    Pre-registration is required one week prior to session. All adult household members are encouraged to attend. Attendance at ALL sessions is recommended. This is a free training available to all foster parents. RSVP to Marisa Ferguson.

  3. Child Foster Care Family Support

    October 27, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Human Services Center

    Support Groups are offered for Wright County Child Foster Care Providers along with their own children and/or foster children from ages 0-18. There will be an adult support group along with two skills groups for children ages 6-12 and 13-18. Also, child care will be provided for children 0-5 years old. Pre-registration is required one week prior to session to ensure the needs of all participants are met and that there is appropriate staffing available. Please contact Marisa Ferguson by 10/20/14 to register.

SUID / AHT Training

  1. SUID/AHT (Sudden Unexpected Infant Death and Abusive Head Trauma) Training

    October 8, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Human Services Center

    Please register by calling or emailing Terri Burkhart. If you are not familiar with the training location, please ask for directions and plan extra travel time. Training does not have to be taken in the county in which you are licensed. Registration is required in order to make sure that enough materials and space are available. Payment can be made over the phone. Class fees are non-refundable unless you reschedule. A minimum of 10 participants need to be registered in order to hold class. Class will be canceled one week prior to class if the minimum is not met. There is no admittance to class after 6:05 pm for the evening classes. Note: These trainings are approved on the MNCPD Registry

Wright County First Steps (Help Me Grow)

    Do you have a child with special needs? Do you need help with medical expenses? Are you frustrated with not knowing what options may be available to you? The Wright County Outreach Worker can offer you information on programs that could help support you and your child (birth-17). Group meetings inform you of the resources available. Through the Wright County First Steps meeting, we can inform you about financial resources and share information about services and resource options that might be available to your child. Services available could include Case Management, Respite Care, Medical Assistance (MA) & TEFRA, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Family Support Grant, Waiver Programs, Personal Care Assistance (PCA), and various other financial programs.
