  1. Child Foster Care Family Training - Significance of Substance Abuse on Families

    Children entering foster care are often affected by parental substance abuse. Substance abuse by biological parents greatly impacts children's behavior. This 3 hour introductory training on alcohol and other drug abuse offers resource families a framework in which to comprehend the topic of alcohol and other drug abuse. Participants will learn about different levels of chemical abuse and explore strategies for working with children and families.

  2. Child Foster Care Family Support Group

    August 28, 2017, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Human Services Center

    Support groups are offered for Wright County Child Foster Care providers along with their own children and/or foster children from ages 0-18. There will be an adult support group along with two skills groups for children ages 6-12 and 13-18. Please note: child care will be provided for children 0-5 years old.

SUID / AHT Training

  1. SUID/AHT (Sudden Unexpected Infant Death and Abusive Head Trauma) Training

    August 16, 2017, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Human Services Center

    Please register by calling or emailing Terri Burkhart. If you are not familiar with the training location, please ask for directions and plan extra travel time. Training does not have to be taken in the county in which you are licensed. Registration is required in order to make sure that enough materials and space are available. Payment can be made over the phone. Class fees are non-refundable unless you reschedule. A minimum of 10 participants need to be registered in order to hold class. Class will be canceled one week prior to class if the minimum is not met. There is no admittance to class after 6:05 pm. Develop Class ID# 227955 Note: These trainings are approved on the MNCPD Registry
