As of 8 a.m. today (March. 5), more than 600 appointments for driver’s license renewals at the Wright County License Bureau are open for the period of March 15-26. Appointments can be scheduled on the main page of the county website (www.co.wright.mn.us) under the “Make an Appointment” tab. Walk-ups are accepted, but not encouraged because those with appointments are given priority and the wait time can be up to an hour. Walk-ins can be taken between 8-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. Walk-ups are accepted, but appointments will be given priority and depending on traffic volume, walk-ups can have a wait period of 30-45 minutes. As a reminder, the Executive Order put in place last spring by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz that allowed driver's licenses to expire without penalty has been lifted and all drivers must have their licenses active and current by March 31.
