Starting today (Oct. 26) and running through Monday, Nov. 23, the Wright County Emerging Leaders Program is preparing baking boxes – containing items used in baking holiday treats for the Thanksgiving and Christmas season that aren’t typically found at area food shelves.
Wright County Emerging Leaders include 18 members from several different county departments and devised a “Season of Giving” campaign to mobilize residents to bring specific items to food shelves or drop boxes that will be located in the Wright County Government Center, Human Services Center, Justice Center and Law Enforcement Center.
Among the items the Emerging Leaders Program is seeking are baking supplies, baking mixes, frosting, extracts, spices, candy melts, corn syrup, cookie cutters and festive toppings. The group is asking the public to make supply submissions or cash donations to the program directly to the food shelves in their local area. Here is a listing of food shelves in Wright County:
