After being closed since Wednesday, Aug. 12, Wright County Parks & Recreation has announced that the swimming beach at Beebe Lake Park has reopened this afternoon.
On Aug. 12, the beach was closed through the weekend after water quality testing discovered a higher level of E. coli than is allowable under state standards. The higher level was attributed to runoff from recent rain storms. Several other lakes also test high for E. coli after the same storms rolled through the area.
Parks & Recreation Director Marc Mattice said new testing was done Monday and sent to the state for analysis, which came back good. The beach was opened immediately thereafter earlier this afternoon.
