The Wright County License Bureau will be opening the next round of 900 appointments for driver’s license renewals at 8 a.m. Friday, July 24. It will cover the period of Aug. 3-14.
License Bureau staff wish to remind residents that the walk-up window on the south parking deck of the Government Center is open for business and handling all office requests with the exception of those that require a photo to be taken. Walk-up window transactions such license tabs and title transfers are being processed during regular business hours (Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and no appointment is necessary for those transactions. Appointments need only be made for standard driver’s license renewals and applications for REAL ID and enhanced driver’s licenses. The requirement for REAL ID to board domestic air flights has been pushed back to Oct. 1, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the backlog of driver’s license renewals it caused when the Minnesota Department of Vehicle Services shut down DMV locations statewide in March.
