In an effort to ease potential foot traffic congestion
inside the Wright County Government Center, the Wright County License Bureau has
installed a drive-up outdoor drop box near the east entrance to the Government
Center.
There are also drop boxes at the front entrance of the
Government Center and inside next to the License Bureau office for those who
need to fill out paperwork, but the new option is for those who desire to drop
off non-driver’s license transactions that have all their paperwork completed.
“There are people who have concerns about entering
buildings and want to avoid if possible,” said Lead License Bureau Specialist
Jessie Gadach. “With the new drop box, people drive can up through the alley that
connects to Lake Boulevard NW, pull up to the box and drop off their paperwork
and get on their way without getting out of their cars.”
The License Bureau is also continuing its Friday
drive-thru pickup, which has been a success for people who need tabs for
vehicles, boats, campers and ATVs (as well as other License Bureau transactions
like title transfers) in advance of taking weekend trips, averaging about 50
pickups per day. Transaction requests need to be received by noon Friday with a
notation on the envelope or a Post-It note specifying that they will come in
for pickup. License Bureau staff will distribute those requests from 2 to 3:30
p.m. in the front parking lot at the Government Center.
In June, a walk-up window will be installed at the
south parking deck of the Government Center which will allow all non-driver’s
license transactions to be completed immediately with License Bureau staff.
