On Sunday April 4, the Wright County Sheriff's Office K-9 teams took part in narcotics location trials in Grand Rapids. As a department, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office took first place overall. Both Wright County K-9 teams scored very high in the individual trials. Deputy Tester and his partner (Vader) earned a 198/200 and Deputy D. Cotton with his partner (Chase) marked a near-perfect 199/200. Teams needed a perfect score to win the individual trials. The Deputy Cotton/Chase team earned second place in room-searching with a perfect score and a time of 1:15. Another K-9 team managed to beat that time by 8 seconds (time is the tiebreaker).
Congratulations Deputy Cotton, Deputy Tester, K-9 Chase, and K-9 Vader for an outstanding showing in this very competitive trial.
