Project Location

CSAH 12, from State Trunk Highway 55 to CSAH 37 located just north and west of the City of Buffalo corporate limits.

Work includes, but is not limited to the following:
  • Reconstruction of the existing highway
  • Construction of a roundabout at the CSAH 12 & County Road 138 intersection
  • Culvert installations to perpetuate drainage patterns
  • Relocation of privately owned utilities by various companies that are located in the highway right-of-way by permit (Wright-Hennepin Electric, Charter Communications, CenterPoint Energy, Centurylink, City of Buffalo, etc.)

CSAH 12 construction work began on Monday, March 30, 2015 with clearing and grubbing of trees, followed by relocation of private utilities.  The project is expected to last two (2) construction seasons. The highway will be detoured during construction, although access to local traffic (traffic that must travel on Hwy 12 to access their home) will be maintained by the contractor for the duration of the project.

Knife River Corporation of Sauk Rapids, MN is the prime contractor for the project.
